OK, I’m changing my url… it’s now going to be a blog featuring nothing but photos of my kids at Woods Humane Society. They’re just sooooo cute. By the time my children are old enough to volunteer there (if they decide to), they’re going to be so familiar with animal care.

The kids are attending nature camp this week with Evan Albright of SLO Wanders. Today we visited Montana De Oro’s beautiful dunes and one of the beaches’ tide pools. What a gorgeous place and a great time with Evan, an amazing naturalist and kids’ mentor. Los Osos Oaks with Colin today. Beautiful! Gianna went to her fourth day of Science Camp with Aurora Lipper. She’s an amazing teacher. Here’s G walking through Flubber. Water limbo… Colin and I visited the cats at Woods Humane Society again… This is unusual – I fell in love with this cat today. She is so incredibly soft, has light blue eyes, and sat [...] We toured the Permibus and met her chickens in the Skills for the New Millennium Tour today. We also made seed balls. It was so great we’re doin’ it again tomorrow! Colin and his new friend… Stay tuned to see if Colin is wearing that green Herbivore t-shirt for the fourth day in a row! (Who’s taking [...] Gianna designed wings in her art class today, and here she is skipping through the halls to fly home. She flew home and finished reading the fourth in the Harry Potter series. It took her just over a week to complete that book. It’s over 700 frickin’ pages, by the way. Gianna: The art teacher was telling me what to do today. I wanted to do it my way. I wanted to use the tape, not the glue. Me: How would you feel about telling her that? Gianna: Not good. Me: That feels uncomfortable to tell her you’d like to do it a different way? Gianna: Yeah. I think she [...] I have to give a shout out to my new friends in Templeton*: Young Gourmet. We visited for a cooking class with our homeschool fieldtrip group today, and the kids made sweet potato fries and muffins. Super yum! The teachers were lovely and they let me jump in with my egg replacer powder [...] It’s like driving down a suburban street… everything’s in order… all the lawns are mowed… flowers peek out of pots… there’s something uneasy here. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I want to break out of it. Parent Participation Class: Bring the kids to a classroom, stand around watching them play, chat with the [...] |
