Watermelon Juice

My new favorite thing in the world…

Take cold watermelon from refrigerator, throw in the blender, blend for 20 seconds (or more if you have seeds to crush up – nutrient-rich!) and drink, drink, drink! Absolutely delicious. Who needs to chew watermelon when you can consume 1/2 of one in 10 minutes? My body, she [...]

Cashew Dip, Dressing, Hummus Stuff

I made a killer pate/dip/dressing thing tonight. Super simple, but that’s what I’m about lately… simple, whole food…

- raw cashews, soaked
- lemon juice (lots)
- Braggs liquid aminos (or something like that)
- garlic

Blend in food processor. It’s like hummus, so plop a dollop on your shredded raw carrot/beet combo or on rice.

My First Loaf of Bread

I’m really into raw food lately – raw pate, salads, green smoothies, etc. – but today I took over Stefan’s job of making bread for the family. Wow, did I do a great job! It’s light and fluffy and beautiful. I guess I have a new career ahead of me.

Pig Candy

I swear this recipe is called “Pig Candy.” They didn’t even bother to call it “Bacon Sweets” or something that prevents us from remembering these little strips used to say, “oink.”

Have you ever been torn between tearing into a pig and eating the contents of a pinata? You know, when you’re hungry for pigs [...]

Sprouts Are Easy To Make!

Stefan makes yummy bread in our bread machine, and I love making simple, money-saving almond milk; but my favorite thing to “make” are sprouts. I love sprouted lentils, chick peas, and alfalfa. Easy peezy!

Just soak the seeds for a day, rinse twice a day with the jar upside down with screen, watch sprouts grow. [...]

Vegan Banana Split Recipe

Gianna, Colin, two of their friends and I made vegan banana splits today. They sure put the T in Tasty! I was impressed with the cooperation they all conjured up to cook after a busy morning of running around on the green chasing me, squirting me with water and throwing balls at me.

Here’s the [...]

Vega Recovery Pudding Recipe

Colin and I whipped up a recipe this morning from Vega’s recipe collection: Recovery Pudding. We didn’t have soaked almonds, just the hard almonds, and we weren’t patient enough to wait 12 hours for said soaking. So the pudding was a bit… grainy. You’ll take the time to soak the almonds. Oh, and you’ll have [...]

Miso Ginger Dip Recipe
